How many times have you told your friends that you used to swim, jog or dance a lot when you were young but now you don't have time? How many times do you tell yourself that after this project is over, you can spend more time with your family?

The truth is, work is never ending, if you don't prioritise your personal well-being, you will never find the time to do the things you used to love, or for your family, because after your current project ends, coincidentally almost every time, another project will start.

​

The Academy helps you set aside time for yourself and your family. And through our activities, you will gradually understand more of yourself and what you want. You must be wondering how can the Academy help you in this?

​

I used to hold a 9 to 5 job like the most of you a few years ago. I faced the same frustration of not finding enough time to do the things that I love, and not spending enough time with my family because of work. My job required me to negotiate new contracts and I had to travel at times to kick start overseas branches.

​

I liked my job actually and I got a sense of achievement from securing new contracts and establishing new branch offices. However, I always felt that there was something lacking in my life. The only time when I could slow down and clear everything out of my mind was when I went fishing. 

​

Fishing has a therapeutic effect on me. It is like a form of meditation. I will feel that my mind becomes very refreshed and clear after a fishing trip regardless of whether I caught any fish. I get to understand more of myself and I found the answer to my question of 'What is the purpose of my life?'

 

After achieving a small step in enlightenment, I decided to give up my job to start My Fishing Frenzy Academy because I want to share what I have learnt with more people. I want to help people to live a free and meaningful life.

The Academy is not going to teach you how to get rich and achieve financial freedom so as you can live a carefree life. The only way for us to be free is to be contented with what we already have. Pursue of wealth and possessions is just like work, it is never ending.

​

To live a meaningful life is to know how to slow down and appreciate the little things along your life journey. Rushing to a perceived destination will only make you miss the other paths that might lead you to a life that you always dream of.

​

I have come to realise this when I am out in nature more often and doing mind calming activities like fishing, it really gives me time to be just with my thoughts and this leads me to my journey of self-discovery. You will realise that you can answer questions in life that you were not able to in the past.

​

Also, being on a boat with another person naturally bonds the both of you because everyone has a common destination. You will definitely know the person much better after a day's trip out at sea together.
